Waffles with Caramelized Apples and Whipped Cream |
This recipe is easy enough for kdis to help! Turn ordinary mashed potatoes into crispy mashed potato puffs filled with bacon, chives, and cheese! It is a nice alternative to traditional mashed potatoes. Mashed with instant mashed potatoes, this recipe is quick and easy to prepare.
Waffles with Caramelized Apples and Whipped Cream
Caramelized apples and a decadent whipped cream made with Chobani instantly transforms waffles into an irresistible breakfast or even dessert. This recipe is perfect for a weekend brunch or to celebrate birthdays, Mother's Day, Father's Day, and other special occasions.
Ingredients:
- ½ cup Chobani® Low-Fat Plain Greek Yogurt
- 1 ¾ cups Whole Milk
- 2 Eggs
- 1/3 cup Light Brown Sugar
- 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2 cups All-purpose Flour
- 1 Tbsp Baking Powder
- 2 Tbsp Corn Starch
- ¼ tsp Kosher Salt
Caramelized apples
- 2 cups Apples, peeled and chopped
- 3 Tbsp Light Brown Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
Whipped Cream
- ½ cup Chobani® Low-Fat Plain Greek Yogurt
- ½ cup Heavy Whipping Cream
- ¼ cup Powdered Sugar, sifted
- ½ tsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions:
Waffles
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together yogurt, milk, eggs, sugar, and vanilla. In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cornstarch, and salt.
- Add dry ingredients to wet and whisk together. Do not over mix batter should be lumpy.
- Preheat waffle iron and lightly grease with nonstick spray. Portion waffle batter into iron and cook according to manufacturer's instructions.
Caramelized apples
- Melt butter in a medium sauté pan. Add apples and sugar. Let sugar dissolve and caramelize slowly over medium heat.
- Once liquid in pan is reduced by half and apples are caramelized, remove from heat and hold at room temperature.
Whipped cream
- Whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Then use a spatula to fold in yogurt.
- Top waffles as desired with caramelized apples and whipped cream.
