Wow! What a great year we had with our Community Cash Back members. This year’s program kicked off on September 24, 2011 and ended on March 3, 2012. Over 800 members organized their groups to shop Acme and to purchase Acme store brands. Members earned 5% rebate on all Acme store brand purchases.
The program will begin again on September 22, 2012…plenty of time for you to get your team organized. The Community Cash Back program show-cases Acme store brands and offers nonprofit organizations a 5% return on their purchases. Ready to Redesign and Expand our State Road site in Cuyahoga Falls
After 10 years of planning and obtaining land, we are now ready to freshen up Acme No. 10 that serves customers in Cuyahoga Falls, Northampton, and North Hill. We have big plans for a 1950′s store that has been falling into disrepair. We want to reward our patient customers with the best and know we will have to earn some of our lost customers back. We submitted an $8 million expansion/redesign and plan to start work on May 1st. We will be going from 30,000 square feet to 50,000 and will be adding 40 employees to the existing 70. The deli/meat, bakery, perishables, prepared foods, and floral department will all be expanded in the redesign. The new entrance will face north instead of east on State Road. The goal is for the project to be finished by Nov. 1st.
Acme Announces New Store To Open In Green
For the first time in 20 years, we are proud to announce we will be opening up a new store! Our expansion into the growing suburb of Green Township is great news for our dedicated customers that have been longing for their own local store. Along with Albrecht, Inc., we have selected a site within the Heritage Crossings development at the corner of Graybill and Massillon Road for our new retail store. Our new home will be located at 3875 Massillon Road, just across the street of the Akron Area YMCA.
Our new store in Green will now accompany our other 15 Acme-operated stores in Northeast Ohio, along with our franchise store, Henry’s Acme in Akron. The exact open date for the new store is still to be determined. We hope to break ground by January 2013 and have the store open in time for the holiday season.

Designer Reusable Grocery Bags
Akron artist Don Drumm has designed a series of reusable grocery bags exclusive to Acme Fresh Market. A huge hit with customers, the first in the series sold out in about three hours. More are on the way along with a brightly colored holiday bag. Acme marked the release of the first bag with a $1,500 donation to the Akron Area Arts Alliance.
Stow Acme Fresh Market Remodel Completion
The final details are completed and a long journey has come to an end. What began on April 25th has culminated into a dazzling new store for the people of Stow. From a total new parking lot, through a sharp new lobby – one would venture into an amazing perishable department highlighted by new produce, deli, bakery, and meat cases set off by a new porcelain floor. A complete reset of the grocery department is framed by a frozen food department second to none. New colors that even Crayola hasn’t thought of rim the store and gives us an exciting and comfortable feeling to enhance the shopping experience.
